Hello, Just a FYI for all Spyder2 users. For those of you that use ColorVision/ColorData's Spyder 2 – 2Pro, the SP2 Ver. 3.5.2 Software is NOT compatible with Windows 7 and there is NO plans to release an Updated version of the software. ColorData would (of Course) like you to update to Spyder3 which is compatible with windows 7. One sort of work around is to use the Spyder2express software which sort of runs on windows 7. But your options are very limited and it is only good for one monitor – so my dual monitor setup is only half calibrated.

Here is the Email from Support. It did not work on my machine! And this was a fresh load from scratch. Thanks for the note Robert: I am sorry to inform you that Spyder2 and Spyder2Pro had been replaced by the newer Spyder3-Product line around two years ago and are not compatible with Windows 7. The only Spyder2 application which will work with Windows 7 is Spyder2express. If you are interested in purchasing a new device, I could offer you a 20% discount when you order it via our online shop (depending on your location). If not, here is the serial number for Spyder2express XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX please feel free to download the software from the link below: Best regards, Dean Zulic Datacolor, USA Ticket Details Ticket ID: LUU-XXXXXXXX Department: Worldwide Support Priority: Hot Status: On Hold.

I am delighted to know this. I plan to move to a new PC on the W7 platform. I have the Spyder2Pro package. I had the Sypder 3 Pro package, but I sent it back. The Pro 3 just did not work for me.

The profiles were horrible and way off.even after multiple installs and profile session. I guess it could have been a bad sensor, but I went back to my Pro2. The main point is I TRUST the Pro2 and my Mitsubishi CRT combination. When the CRT dies I am headed to a NEC spectraview set-up.

Interesting, as I'm using Windows 7 64 bit as well, and the same 2.3.5 Spyder2Pro software works fine. I wonder if something else is causing the problem? Possible things to try:. Be sure you have the latest video card driver. Go to the monitor manufacturer's website and see if there are any downloads for your monitor. If there are, then it might be worth looking at what they're for. Downloads for monitors are not necessary in most circumstances, but they can enable the system to identify the precise make and model of your display, and that may be the issue you're experiencing.

The only software available at that link with that version (2.3.6) is Spyder2express 2.3.6 - Win. My inclination is that the problem here is that something is misconfigured and confusing the (now old and possibly buggy) software, but I don't know what and have no other recommendation as it works fine for me One other shot in the dark: what if you open device manager, 'delete' your monitor from the list, and reboot? Rebooting would then cause Windows to 're-detect' your monitor and, hopefully, set things up right. This is pure speculation, but it would not be that hard to try.

PeterWem wrote in To install the program in windows 7 32bit no problem. But in the 64bit version it can´t find my device. No digital signification. How to solve the problem? Do not use the disc that came with it. Go to the website and download the updated software.

I just did that for my Vista 64 bit and it works fine now. 70d, 1Ds Mark II, Canon 300m 2.8L,Canon 50 1.8, Canon 70-200 2.8L non-IS, Canon 100-400L, Canon 17-4,Canon 135L, Canon 85 1.8,Rokina 14mm fisheye, Canon 24-105L, Pancake 40mm.

I asked Colorvision today and they replayed this: 'Dear Peter, thank you for submitting a ticket and your faith in Datacolor products. Windows 7 is a beta version and has not been finally released. There are many known issues with this. Also Microsoft has not yet fully released the internal specifications to the developers. Microsoft self call this 'not for production use'.

You can be sure, that we will provide a solution to this problem once the final version of Windows 7 will be released. Best regards, Carsten Tschach Tech. Datacolor AG, Brandbachstr. 10, 8305 Dietlikon / Zurich, Switzerland' I think I will survive untill the release.

I also have a Spyder 2 that I can't install in WIndows 7. I've tried the vista signed 64 bit install from colorvision's website and it didn't work. I can't use the vista solution linked above because I don't have vista 32 or 64. I've also tried the new F8 and go into 'Allow non signed driver' mode and that didn't work either. Benr wrote in.Now I have to buy a Spyder3? Technology marches on. A no cost solution is to use your existing Spyder2 puck with free open source calibration software. A temporary solution is download and use the trial version of ColorEyes Display pro software. Best solution is buy a brand new calibration kit. While colorimeters last a long time, they do age and you may need a new one anyway. And no need to restrict yourself to DataColor/Spyder products.

Chas P 'It doesn't matter how you get there if you don't know where you're going!' I realize this post may be a bit dated but I am looking to get a cheap version of Spyder2pro used for my Windows 7 64 bit computer. I was worried that it would not work on the 64 bit. Seeing others say it works is great but what software do I need to update to before installing? It looks like the Datacolor 64 bit download is from 2008? Is there another download I am not aware of?

Any links or tips to where I can download the correct software on this issue would be EXCELLENT! Cheers Do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life.
