Posted By admin On 18.10.19Linksys Wireless-B Router, Model BEFW11S4 I got this router 3 years ago and set it up with an old laptop. I now - Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router question. When I see the available wireless networks should mine read 'automatic' or 'manual' as I would think the only difference would be that with 'manual' it would be required to put in my password each time while in 'automatic' it would be done automatically. Is this a correct assumption. I will keep trying to figure out our issues.
It is not uncommon for a port to. on a hub, switch, or home router.
It is not too rare that a cable needs replacing, especially if it is laid on the floor or where something gets put on it. Since I do not know the layout, it makes it viable.
Your first reply was dumb though, if he gets a page is not found error, how is he going to put in the PW? It needs to find the router first. Not even the setup cd found it so it is likely not communicating properly.
But sorry, I didnt think of ipconfig release/renew, as Jay had mentioned IPConfig, so I had guessed that he was already familiar with these commands. Neopost si 65 manually to icloud. That is about the only 'dumb' part of my post, unless you wish to clarify a bit more.
Ok heres the deal.the other day my cable went out. So I got annoyed with my linksys Wireless-Broadband Router.(model BEFW11S4) and pressed the reset button too hard, collasping the thing inside the unit. My question is, is there a dos command to reset these things? Or any other way to reset these routers?

I am running windows xp, and am on cox cable. I am using my other router, one port and a 8port hub on my network. Maybe, perhaps I can run the wireless off the hub and reset from the 1 port router? Anyhow, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance wakegirl. My question is, is there a dos command to reset these things? Or any other way to reset these routers?

The BEFW11S4 can be reset to the factory default settings via the Web interface. Note the warning, though, on the page describing resetting via the Web interface (Page 27 in the Version 4 manual): ' Do not restore the factory defaults unless you are having difficulties with the Router and have exhausted all other troubleshooting measures. Once the Router is reset, you will have to re-enter all of your configuration data.'
