The problem you are experiencing may be due to your system having a USB 2.0 controller. Before installing the new firmware you need to disable the USB Enhanced PCI 2.0 controller in Device Manager.

You then connect your CDR 2000 remote and sensor and install the drivers if necessary. Once the CDR 2000 device is listed and is not disappearing from Device manager then close the CDR software application if it is open and disconnect your CDR2000 Remote Module before proceeding with the installation of the rev 33 firmware. After installing the firmware reconnect your hardware and you will receive a message the next time you start CDR software. Just click OK to automatically upgrade the Remote Module with the new firmware. When installation is complete, reconnect your CDR2000 Remote Module. This firmware can be used with any USB Remote Module and CDR DICOM or CDR 2.6 software.

You can now enable the USB Enhanced PCI 2.0 controller in Device Manager. Lindberg Moderator Posts: 1402 Joined: Thu Jan 01, 2004 7:33 pm Location: Long Island City, NY. I've upgrade the firmware to 3.4 and it works perfect on my new sytem with Windows XP Professional and Intel USB 2.0 controller.

However, when I plug the remote to the second system(Windows 98), the sensor is not working. I check the device manager in Windows XP, it detects the remote as CDR USB 2.0 sensor under the CDR group. Howver, in the Windows98 system, it detects as CDR 2000 USB interface. I tried to install firmware 3.4 again in the windows 98 system, follow the step but cannot go any furthur after step 5 as per your instruction on the firmware 3.4 upgrade page. What's the problem, can the firmware 3.4 work with Windows 98? If not, any solution? Thanks, Posts: 1 Joined: Thu Jan 01, 2004 7:33 pm.

If the remote has been upgraded to rev 34 firmware then it should be recognized as the CDR 2000 2.0 device, under the CDR Hardware category in Windows 98 device manager. Run the CDR diagnostic utility and check the firmware version. If it is not on firmware rev 34 then it should prompt you to upgrade the remote. After the upgrade Windows 98 will detect the hardware as a new device. You then have to point the Windows 98 hardware wizard to the driver that is located in the following path: C: Program Files Schick Technologies CDR 2000 USB Driver Drivers Donald A.
